In 2019, she completed a Master's degree in Spanish Linguistics with a dual specialization in English Sociolinguistics at the American university New Mexico State University, where she worked for two consecutive years as a teaching assistant in the Department of Languages and Linguistics. She later carried out her doctoral research at the University of Basel. Her PhD project examines the sociolinguistic situation in the community of Gibraltar, with a particular focus on language use and code-switching strategies among young Gibraltarians. Her academic interests are grounded in the study of language contact from a sociolinguistic and discourse-analytical perspective, as well as in the relationship between language and identity.
